Job Description

Overall Purpose of the Position:



The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) partners with operations aligning people practices with business goals. The role focuses on attracting, developing, and retaining talent while building leadership capability and fostering an inclusive, engaging culture. Working closely with Area Coaches (ACs), Restaurant General Managers (RGMs), Operational Leaders, and the HR team, the HRBP provides guidance on performance management, employee relations, compliance, and workforce planning, ensuring the business has the right people, in the right roles, at the right time.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:



Talent Management:



Ensuring all restaurant Management vacancies are filled promptly with quality hires. Partner with Area Coaches to forecast workforce needs, reduce time-to-fill, and proactively address high-turnover Supporting Area Coaches in building and sustaining internal talent pipeline to reduce turnover and supporting succession planning (from Team member to Area Coach).

Build People Capability:



Facilitating people development initiatives, including soft skills and leadership programs Coaching RGMs and ACs to strengthen leadership effectiveness, team-building skills and retention focus. Supporting leaders with coaching, feedback and structured development plans. Driving consistent and quality execution of appraisals, mid-year reviews, performance development plans and pay review Embedding leadership behaviours through frameworks such as Heart Styles - Heart-Led Leadership.

Championing culture/engagement and driving organisational effectiveness:



Champion employee engagement retention initiatives Fostering a positive workplace culture that reflects TradeOn's People Promise principles Leading employee engagement and retention through the TradeON's retention strategy, the KFC Listens platform and other employee engagement initiatives Collaborating with Operations to design recognition, wellness, and development programs. Supporting business in cultivation of the People Promise principles Supporting brand-led training and people capability programs to build consistency across restaurants. Supporting leaders in performance management processes, including coaching on feedback delivery, corrective action and development plans

Business partnering:



Building strong business partnerships with the Area Coaches, Regional Coaches and operations teams Providing proactive HR insights using metrics (turnover, absenteeism, engagement, productivity) to make informed business decisions.

Ideal Requirements



Diploma in HR or Industrial Psychology, with a degree being advantageous 3+ years HR experience, ideally in a multi-site, fast-paced, customer-focused business (QSR/retail). Strong knowledge of SA labour legislation and HR best practices Experience in a remote-based Field HR role is desirable Experience in supporting and engaging a distributed workforce. Valid Driver's licence with reliable transport Ability to frequently travel and work various restaurants within designated area
