The Sales and Marketing Manager

is responsible for leading the strategic direction of sales, marketing, and revenue generation of the Hotel.

This role ensures the hotel achieves its annual revenue and market share objectives while positioning the property as a preferred destination in the Cape Winelands. The Sales and Marketing Manager works closely with Marriott's NST and GSO sales teams to drive bookings, identify new business opportunities, and maximize revenue across all market segments. The

role directly oversees the Digital Marketing Coordinator and collaborates with Operations, Revenue Management, and Reservations

to ensure seamless delivery of services and brand-aligned guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans to meet targeted revenue, occupancy, and market share objectives. Prospect and secure new business opportunities across corporate, leisure, MICE, and group segments, locally, regionally, and internationally. Collaborate with Marriott's Sales team to leverage regional and global networks. Work closely with Revenue Management to set room revenue budgets, ADR, and segment-specific targets for the financial year. Lead initiatives to drive banquet, conferencing, and events sales. Participate in national and international trade shows, hotel site inspections, and client presentations to promote the hotel. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, travel agents, tour operators, and event planners. Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, and hotel site inspections to generate and retain business. Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions. Supervise and mentor the Digital Marketing Coordinator, ensuring effective execution of campaigns and digital initiatives. Coordinate with Reservations, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver seamless guest experiences. Oversee marketing initiatives to ensure consistent brand messaging aligned with Marriott Tribute Portfolio standards. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and guest feedback to refine sales and marketing strategies. Develop digital campaigns, social media strategies, and promotional content to enhance visibility and engagement. Prepare regular sales and marketing reports, including performance analysis, forecast accuracy, and pipeline updates. Manage the sales and marketing budgets effectively. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and revenue pipelines in CRM systems.

Minimum 5-8 years' experience in hotel sales and marketing leadership, preferably in a 4- or 5-star property.

Strong understanding of corporate, leisure, MICE

, and group market segments.

Experience with Marriott systems (ie. Opera, MARSHA, One Source etc) advantageous.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Bachelor's

degree or diploma in Sales, Marketing, or Hospitality Management

preferred. Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset. Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management skills. Customer-focused with exceptional relationship-building abilities. Analytical, organized, and detail oriented. Proactive, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure. Commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue growth across multiple channels.
