Critical Criteria (Requirements)
Matric certificate (Grade 12); hospitality or office administration qualification advantageous

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a hotel receptionist in a 4/5-star property (experience in 300+ room hotels advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Opera PMS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and guest service orientation
  • Professional, well-presented, and guest-centric approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must hold a valid South African ID

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Welcome and engage guests with warmth and professionalism; assist VIP arrivals and departures
  • Handle efficient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring billing accuracy and room readiness
  • Process reservations, amendments, cancellations, and group bookings accurately in Opera PMS
  • Maintain a neat, organised, and fully stocked reception desk
  • Liaise with Housekeeping, Porters, Room Service, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service
  • Attend daily briefings, provide handovers, and communicate relevant guest or operational updates
  • Perform end-of-shift checks and complete handover tasks, ensuring no unresolved guest issues remain
  • Uphold the hotels standards of professionalism, grooming, and guest interaction
