Hotel Human Resources Manager - Cape TownFull job descriptionITC Hospitality Group is a fast-growing CBD-based and privately owned property letting and management company that has been in the industry for 20 years. We are currently recruiting for a motivating, well-organized and empathetic Human Resources Manager for our ITC portfolio, and our 260-room hotel located on the Foreshore/Financial District of Cape Town. PLEASE NOTE: Only candidates with hotel experience in a similar role will be considered. If you do not meet these qualifications, please do not apply.Job SummaryTo develop and establish proactive Human Resources function that actively supports ITC Hospitality Group in achieving its business goals. To manage a team of motivated and well-trained individuals. The role of Human Resources Manager Is responsible for operating within the policies and procedures as known and set out in the ITC Hospitality Group employee handbook.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day activities in the Human Resources department and ensure that the highest levels of service standards are maintained at all times.Maintain a high level of personal service with all team members and suppliers of the business.Counsel employees objectively and impartially on employment issues and personal issues where required.Produce Human Resources reports and statistics, analyse results and take necessary follow-up action.Monitor and administer the Human Resources / Payroll software.Oversee the co-ordination and administration of employee performance reviews.Assist CEO and CFO to co-ordinate annual salary increases and end year incentive process.Conduct annual salary and benefits surveys to ensure remuneration packages are competitive in the marketplace.Develop and implement meaningful employee communication, engagement and recognition programs that maximize employee awareness of the ITC Hospitality Group brand vision, mission and guiding principles.Implement corporate driven Human Resources initiatives.Implement and ensure on-going effectiveness of communication within the business.Manage and implement the policies and procedures required to ensure the business operates smoothly.Establish and nurture strong links with all heads of department and line team members to ensure the optimum level of performance remains.Take personal responsibility for any team member situations, seeing the situation through to the solution, or correctly and completely handing over to the General Manager, only if a solution is not attainable.Bring to management's attention any pressing issues that might be affecting the performance of colleagues and ultimately the business.Keep Human Resources policies and procedures updated, and communicate as appropriate, ensuring local legal compliance.To ensure that exit interviews are completed for all leavers and to compile and to distribute the findings in order to find any common denominators that need to be addressed.To provide an internal consultancy service to management on all employee relations matters.FinancialControl the Human Resources budget ensuring that costs do not exceed budget.Sign off monthly payroll with the company Finance Director.Ensure departmental compliance with head count levels and operational requirements.Participate in financial review Apply Below requiredEnsure energy and costs saving measures for the department are implemented and evaluated.Health And SafetyEnsure that statutory health and safety standards are maintained at all times.Maintain satisfactory conduct of health and safety, fire and emergency procedures in line with the Building Security Manager.Training And DevelopmentCarry out regular training needs analysis and develop training plans in line with the business objectives.In conjunction with management, identify key players within the business for succession plans, ensuring their development to reach business goals.Ensure all new employees, trainees or those on a departmental familiarization program are properly introduced to the working of the department and receive comprehensive and accurate training.COMMUNICATIONEnsure the constant flow of information through all departments.Hold weekly and monthly communication meetings with the CEO and CFO to ensure all relevant information is communicated to the management.Assist and participate in all communication meetings in order to discuss all new changes and practices taking place and discuss any problems or suggestions in the department.GENERALTo recommend updates of business policies and procedures in order to maintain high standards and provide the best possible service to internal stakeholders and implement improvements where required.To oversee any complaints or problem solving within the department, and to be available to offer guidance or assistance where necessary.Be familiar with the employee handbook, house rules and have the necessary IR knowledge.To ensure disciplinary action is followed out within the guidelines of the South African labour law.Implement and drive Employment Equity and related BBBEE scorecards within the Resort.To be fully conversant with the company's policies and procedures.Attend any meetings and training sessions as defined by management.To complete any reasonable request from Management.Attend the CCMA as representation of the company.Skills, Experience & Educational RequirementsMust have:Recognized HR Qualification with SENIOR or MID LEVEL HR Management experience, ideally within a Hotel / Hospitality related work environmentTertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or relatedMinimum 4 - 5 years' experience within a similar roleExperience in administering Sage VIPExperience in SAP Success FactorsTransformational/ Culture ManagementJob Type: Full-timePay: R35 000,00 - R45 000,00 per monthWork Location: In person Report job
