Horticulturist
Cape Town | On-site

You will maintain and develop a 3.5-hectare garden, which includes swimming pools, internal landscaping, irrigation, and an active vineyard. Part of your role will be to oversee the management and monitoring of water treatment plants and the recycling facility and conduct guided group tours of the garden.

You are an inspiring, empowering and results-orientated leader with a passion for service excellence whilst maintaining standards and meeting or exceeding financial goals.

Along with your Diploma in Horticulture or Landscaping Technology, you have sound experience in garden estate maintenance with a minimum of 5 years experience. Your sound knowledge of indigenous plants and technical expertise with the maintenance and repairs, procurement of pumps, etc., will see you far in this role.

Computer literacy, administration, and recordkeeping skills are vital to this role. You have working knowledge of IR legislation and an understanding of project management and budgeting. An excellent attendance and performance track record and the ability to work on weekends is essential, as is the preparedness to use your own transport. Your ability to communicate in IsiXhosa will set you apart from the rest. You know and support sustainable methods in the garden maintenance of the site.

You are a reliable and adaptable Horticulturist with exceptional organisational skills and a drive for results. You would possess an acute attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure, demonstrating resilience and stress tolerance.

Proficiency in problem analysis and strong decision-making and judgment skills are also crucial for this role. The role requires excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and interpersonal sensitivity.
