Position Overview
The Principal drives student achievement and leads a team of dedicated staff to ensure excellence across teaching, learning, school operations, and community engagement. This role requires a leader who can set a rigorous academic vision, uphold strong school culture, support professional development, and ensure full readiness for NSC and Umalusi requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Student Achievement & Academic Excellence
- Set clear, ambitious academic goals aimed at a 100% NSC pass rate.
- Support matric learners with strong data-driven interventions and academic plans.
Instructional & Data-Driven Leadership
- Use real-time data to guide personalised learning.
- Implement advanced blended-learning and tech-enhanced instructional strategies.
School Culture & Learner Engagement
- Build a culture of high achievement, emotional resilience, and leadership.
- Drive mentorship, learner engagement programmes, and responsibilities.
Staff Development & Professional Growth
- Lead coaching, termly evaluations, and continuous professional development.
- Equip teachers to integrate blended learning and innovative teaching practices.
Behaviour Management & Support Systems
- Oversee behaviour support plans rooted in restorative justice.
- Strengthen mental health, counselling, and socio-emotional support systems.
Stakeholder & Community Collaboration
- Build productive partnerships with parents, families, and the community.
- Maintain compliance with the Department of Basic Education.
NSC & Umalusi Accreditation
- Lead all NSC exam preparations and accreditation processes.
- Drive high matric success through structured academic support programmes.
Operations & Financial Management
- Oversee operational efficiency, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Innovation in Education
- Promote project-based learning, technology integration, and global competencies.
- Integrate Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into learning programmes.
Accountability & Continuous Improvement
- Implement strong monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Maintain high performance standards for staff and learners.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years high school teaching experience
- 2+ years school leadership experience
- Experience with labour laws
- Experience with NSC exam administration and accreditation
Preferred Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- B.Ed or PGCE (Senior Phase & FET)
- SACE registration
- English fluency
- Clear criminal record
