What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:
The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, strong organisational and interpersonal skills, and an exemplary work ethic characterized by drive and meticulous attention to detail.
This position reports directly to the Head of the High School and Academic Head
, working closely alongside the academic staff.
A genuine commitment to the school's ethos, values, and vision is essential. The successful candidate must be willing to uphold and actively support this foundation.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes, as well as undertake the responsibilities outlined below:
SACE registration is required.
A minimum of three years' experience with the IEB curriculum is preferred.
Must be a suitably qualified Afrikaans First Additional Language (FAL) teacher.
Experience in IEB matric marking will be advantageous.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and build positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
Energetic, creative, self-driven, and innovative approach to teaching.
Ability to create a nurturing learning environment that fosters student engagement.
Professionalism reflected in punctuality, conduct, and high standards of work.
Comprehensive understanding of relevant assessment standards and practices.
Proficient in setting, marking, and evaluating assessments and other forms of student evaluation.
Ensure thorough and consistent lesson planning, carried out collaboratively with colleagues.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, both individually and within the school framework.
Availability to teach extra lessons when necessary.
Active participation in the High School extramural programme.
Preparation of high-quality learning resources for students.
Timely communication by responding to emails and phone messages within 24 hours.
Attendance at special school events as required by the Head of School.
The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake any additional reasonable duties as directed by the Head of School. While this summary outlines the main responsibilities, it is not exhaustive and duties may be adjusted or expanded as appropriate to the role.
