This role is onsite in our Johannesburg office and subject to shifts.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Help Desk & Infrastructure Support Technician to provide comprehensive IT support across software, hardware, and networking platforms. You'll support internal users by troubleshooting end-user devices, managing user accounts, maintaining IT infrastructure, and participating in various technical projects. This is a hands-on, in-office role working with modern technologies including VMware, Azure, Active Directory, Office 365, and enterprise-level hardware and software systems.

Key Responsibilities:Provide Level 1 & 2 support through phone, email, and ticketing system. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices (Windows OS required; Mac OS nice to have). Assist with workstation imaging, deployment, setup, and configuration. Deliver internal customer service with a focus on professionalism and timely resolution. Support and maintain Active Directory, Office 365, VPN, and Remote Desktop Gateway. Deploy and manage virtual machines using VMware vCenter and Azure. Monitor and maintain data centers and server infrastructure. Install, configure, and maintain SQL/Web Servers, antivirus, backups, SFTP servers, and certificate management tools. Troubleshoot internal network connectivity issues (basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SFTP). Support wireless network access, firewalls (Palo Alto/Fortigate), switches, and routers. Assist with vulnerability management and security tools deployment. Support IT office infrastructure including audio/visual setups, IP phones, and biometric access systems. Perform hardware inventory and asset management. Participate in general IT facilities tasks and vendor coordination. Participate in IT projects and assist in implementing new technologies. Follow and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs). Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations and project updates.


Qualifications & Experience:Minimum 4 years' experience in a Help Desk/Desktop Support or similar IT role. Solid understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and common desktop hardware. Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter, Azure, and cloud-based server deployments. Basic networking skills (routing, switching, IP addressing). Familiarity with Service Management Tools such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, or Freshdesk. Experience with tools such as antivirus platforms, monitoring systems, and remote desktop solutions. Knowledge of cabling standards and hands-on experience with Cat 5/5e/6 preferred. SQL Server, Web Server, SFTP, and certificate management experience a plus.
