Our client has an opportunity available for a Health and Safety Officer.

Requirements:

• Matric.
• National Diploma or Degree in Health and Safety Management.
• SAMTRAC or NEBOSH.
• NOSA.
• HRIA.
• ISO 45001 auditor.
• HACCP.
• Total Quality Management Certificate would be advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Knowledge of Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.
• Knowledge of HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 Management Systems would be an advantage.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis Principles.
• 5 years of work experience in a relevant position.
• FMCG Manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
• SAP experience.

• Proactive management of safety laws and regulations within the brewery and depots.
• Inspections of brewery and depots to ensure adherence with safety laws and regulations.
• Examine ways to improve health and safety standards.
• Ensure that each market has comprehensive Baseline Risk Assessment.
• Calibrate the sites and location on the Safe Systems of Work.
• Negotiate with managers and employees regarding provision of a safe working environment.
• Assist in the development of health and safety programmes and strategies.
• Compile and review risk assessments, safe working procedures and method statements.
• Ensure all health & safety reps conduct monthly H&S inspections of their work areas.
• Liaise with on-site contractors to ensure compliance with company safety regulations.
• Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes and identify corrective and preventative actions and report to management.
• Review and update Emergency Procedures as and when necessary.
• Implementation of ISO 45001 standard in coordination with SHE Manager.
• Inventory control, maintenance and supply of fire extinguishers and first aid kits to brewery and depots.
• Assist with the formulation of emergency/contingency plans for:

• Natural disaster.
• Industrial action
• Political unrest
• Fire
• Explosions
• Bomb threats
