SCOPE OF JOB

Under the guidance of the Spa Manager and within the limits of the Spa Policies, ensure that all operational procedures, codes of conduct and standards of appearance, set down by the Spa Manager are adhered to by all staff. To ensure the smooth running of the treatment department, to maintain a high standard of treatments, cleanliness and motivation within the team. To assist the Spa Manager in the recruitment, induction, development and appraisal of all Spa therapy staff.



KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

FINANCIAL/ COMMERCIAL
Assist the Spa Manager in ensuring the budget requirements and retail sales are adhered to, the emphasis being on profitability. Liaise with the Head Receptionist to ensure reconciliation of funds at the close of each shift, and that any discrepancy has been fully investigated and the findings logged in the appropriate place and the Spa Manager informed. To be responsible for the administration of goods, requisition, inventories, and cost effective usage of all department related materials and assets. Ensure a par stock appropriate to the business demands. Assist the Spa Manager in evaluating the Spa's position in the market.

ADMINISTRATIVE/ OPERATIONAL
To take full management responsibilities within the treatment area in the absence of the Spa Manager. Provide the update to manuals, workbooks, to ensure that all operational procedures are carried out in the prescribed manner. To ensure that the facility is adequately manned at all times. Assist the Spa Manager in co-ordinating the day to day running of the treatment area. Promote and sell the services of the Spa and maximise the potential of all sales. Do demonstrations and presentations as required. Oversee Press visits, PR and VIP visits. To insure proper induction and training of all therapists is carried out. To ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the facility at all times. To ensure that the Health and safety Policy is adhered to. To inform the Spa Manager of any complaints regarding the Spa's facility, recommending amendments if necessary. Responsible for Opening/Closing Procedures when on duty. To attend Management meetings as required. To deal with problems, enquiries and complaints from Spa clientele. To set an example at all times in standards of professionalism, attitude and appearance as required from the staff. Cover Reception as and when necessary. To perform Duty Manager Duties as required.




PERSONNEL
To assist the Spa Manager in the recruitment, training, discipline and development and appraisal of all therapists and spa attendants. To ensure proper induction and training of all staff is carried out To instigate a monthly meeting with all Spa staff to motivate and be aware of staff needs and aspirations. Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the high standard of treatment and service within the treatment area. To set the highest standard at all times in professionalism, appearance and attitude as expected.
