Head of SEO

Key Responsibilities

Lead and evolve the company's

SEO strategy

across all client accounts and internal digital assets. Build, manage, and mentor a growing team of SEO professionals--technical SEOs, content strategists, outreach specialists, and analysts. Conduct advanced

technical audits

, competitor analysis, and keyword research with precision and purpose. Design and implement

comprehensive SEO roadmaps

including technical SEO, on-page optimization, link building, and content-led strategies. Stay ahead of search engine algorithm changes and industry trends, adapting strategies proactively. Collaborate with department heads (Content, PPC, Sales, Dev) to create

integrated marketing campaigns

that drive business outcomes. Develop meaningful SEO KPIs and regularly report on performance--rankings, traffic, leads, and revenue. Lead client calls and presentations with confidence, translating complex SEO insights into clear, value-driven outcomes.

Requirements

Minimum

5 years of experience in SEO

, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role. Agency experience strongly preferred. Proven success delivering

SEO results across multiple verticals and markets

. Deep understanding of all facets of SEO:

technical SEO

, content strategy, on-page/off-page, local SEO, and international SEO. Proficient with tools such as

Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Surfer SEO

, and others. Strong leadership and team-building skills--you've managed SEO teams that deliver. Highly analytical and data-driven, with a passion for measuring what matters and making decisions based on real performance insights. Excellent communication skills--able to translate SEO lingo into business language for stakeholders and clients. Knowledge of

, crawl budgets, structured data, and site architecture best practices.
