As Head of Project Management Office, youll lead the strategic engine driving change and delivery across the business. Youll be responsible for overseeing a wide range of critical functions, including:
PMO Leadership & Strategy
Lead and manage a team of 15+ staff including project managers, business analysts, system analysts, administrators, and solution designers.
Define, shape, and evolve PMO roles and responsibilities to align with delivery methodologies and business needs.
Develop and maintain PMO frameworks, governance, and strategic delivery plans that support business objectives and operational efficiency.
Agile Delivery & Project Execution
Champion Agile delivery practices including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and quarterly planning cycles.
Drive end-to-end project execution, from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with enterprise change programs and long-term objectives.
Stakeholder & Business Unit Engagement
Act as a key liaison with business unit heads, product owners, and senior executives to prioritize initiatives and manage stakeholder expectations.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align delivery with business needs, mitigate risks, and resolve escalations.
Vendor & Partner Management
Oversee third-party development partners and vendors delivering core systems, digital channels, and mobile solutions.
Lead vendor evaluation, onboarding, and performance tracking. Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure service quality.
Capacity & Resource Management
Plan and manage PMO capacity, including workforce planning, recruitment, and resource utilization across both BAU and transformation initiatives.
Lead performance management, mentoring, and skills development initiatives within the PMO team.
Strategic Planning & Reporting
Drive strategic planning for priority change programmes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and executive direction.
Prepare and present high-quality reports and performance insights to senior leadership, including project health, capacity, and budget updates.
Budget & Financial Governance
Set and manage PMO budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Approve costs in line with departmental budgets while balancing delivery priorities and efficiency.
Process Improvement & Change Enablement
Drive process optimization and embed best practices to increase delivery efficiency and business agility.
Lead gap analyses and partner with L&D to close capability gaps through targeted upskilling and professional development programmes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
At least 10 years experience managing complex project portfolios in financial services or medical insurance sectors
5 years people leadership experience within project delivery environments.
Bachelors degree in Technology, Information Systems, or related discipline.
Methodology training or certifications in Agile (SAFe, Scrum), Lean Six Sigma, COBIT, or Kanban.
Proficient in Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence) and other project delivery tools.
Strong commercial acumen, with experience in budget ownership and vendor management
