Job Description


Eduvos is looking to appoint a seasoned Head of HR to lead the HR function with the objective of creating and enabling talent / human capability that will foster and reinforce a unique culture in support of the implementation of the business strategy and adding value to all stakeholders (leaders, employees, investors, clients, community), thereby making a substantial contribution to sustainable business performance. Further to this, the purpose is to establish the human resources function to achieve the human capability that is required to continue the transform journey of the organisation currently and into the future.

  • Position the HR function by drafting and implementing the HR strategy for Eduvos.
  • Act as custodian of the organisational transformation process by embedding the Eduvos culture.
  • Drive the execution of HR strategic plans and objectives
  • Ensure HR and legislative compliance, and ensure that all HR policies reflects best practice and reinforces the Eduvos culture.
  • Talent management, by recruiting top talent and by implementing a strong succession bench to exploit business opportunities.
  • Performance management of team & creation of a high performance culture
  • Create a company culture that fosters learning and growth
  • Live, share and ensure that everybody understand the vision, strategy and values
  • Drive implementation of culture initiatives
  • Ensure that conflict and disciplinary issues are addressed timeously
  • Successful and timeously implement change initiatives and champion this on leadership level
  • Ensure that key technology, systems and processes are continuously optimised to drive productivity and service excellence
  • Continuous improvements to policies, procedures and practices.
  • HR Reporting (up to board level)
  • Optimal management of HR budget
  • Manage corporate social responsibility by ensuring that board decisions are implemented
  • Act as trusted and credible advisor to the business
  • Ensure achievement of key HR metrics
  • Drive leading remuneration practices linked to performance and clearly communicate decisions to staff.
  • Internal and external stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Relevant post-graduate degree in Human Resources
  • A HR leader with at least 10 yearsxe2x80x99 HR experience, of which five years in a managerial role, accountable for functional and strategic decision making regarding all aspects related to human resources.
  • Exposure to higher education industry is advantageous.
  • Experience in growing a HR function or building a HR function will be advantageous.
  • OD and EE / BBBEE experience relating to influencing and transforming an organisation through OD and EE engagement and interventions.
  • Experiencing in a fast paced scaling organisation.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (EE, BBBEE, labour legislation, etc.)
  • Depth of understanding of organizational transformation and culture and the relationship between culture and business performance
  • Depth of understanding regarding the role and function of HR in an organization, the relevant stakeholders and the operating models to enable the execution of the HR mandate
  • Good understanding of the employee value chain and talent management, and talent management architecture and methodologies.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical and commercial thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
This role can be based in Pretoria, Jhb or Cape Town.
