Eduvos is seeking to employ the services of

Head of Finance

. This is a national role. The successful incumbent may be based at any of our campuses.

Purpose of the role



To lead the Eduvos finance function to ensure financial compliance, transparent procurement and to provide accurate financial information which enables business decisions.

Minimum Requirements



CA(SA) At least ten years post-article experience as a manager in a finance function, of which at least five years in a senior management role; as well as a few years preferably in Higher Education environment Working knowledge of financial systems and VIP / payroll processes and systems Working knowledge of IFRS, Companies Act and tax legislation Working knowledge of financial processes, governance and risk management and cash flow management

Duties and Responsibilities



Areas of Accountability




Financial compliance Financial reports / statements (statutory and other) Management accounts reporting Annual budget process and cost and expense management Cash flow management and investment advice External Audits Accounts receivable Procurement and Accounts payable Payroll management Asset management



Operational process outputs




Strategic business advisor from a financial perspective (predictive modeling) Funding partners (Managing the current relationship, initiating and sourcing



Management function




Compile finance function budgets and manage it continuously - expense and capex Finance strategy implementation through BUSINESS AND OPERATIONAL PLANS, goals and schedules Finance strategy implementation MONITORING, control and corrective action Reporting (Financial function related) Workflow / alignment / silos / communication Escalations / Decisions / Problem solving Resourcing and capacity management (people; infrastructure; systems; technology; equipment; knowledge - content, process, design; information; facilities / physical environment trends) Operational efficiency - processes, policies & governance / systems / standards / compliance / methodologies Structure and roles
