Marie Stopes South Africa is looking for a Head of Finance to join our team. Ideally a person who has worked in a commercial environment who understands internal financial controls and understands how to effectively improve the control environment.
Has experience in managing a small finance team and can meet reporting deadlines. Must have experience with co-ordinating internal auditors and show working experience in managing year end external audit processes.
He/she should have a strong understanding of claims processing with medical aid schemes, working knowledge of managing a receivable book and ensuring tight cash management is in place.
Must prepare monthly management accounts on time and do budget planning and financial forecasting.

Monthly performance reporting against Business plan
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Annual Budget Planning
Leadership and Team Management
Vendor Contract Management
Working with internal and external auditors
Compiling Annual Financial Statements
ABOUT YOU - COMPETENCIES
You are Pro-choice.
Commerce degree or significant relevant work experience
Has worked in a small audit or accounting firm or at a senior level in a medical practice or hospital group.
Advanced excel skills is essential for this role
Sound knowledge and experience of South African tax laws advantageous
Ability to assess controls and to rapidly implement improvements to ensure sound financial management
Financial data analysis and interpretation
Financial reporting on senior management level on budgeting and forecasts
