Overview of the Job:

Key Characteristics:





+105 owned and leased properties supporting the ADvTECH Schools and Tertiary education, and Resourcing divisions. +R370 million rand per annum incurred cost to be managed for cleaning, hygiene, security, landscaping, property rates and utilities. Several national facility services and management outsourced contracts for lifecycle management. Diverse client stakeholder management including Principals, Business Managers, Financial Managers, and Executives. Varied facility management maturity levels requiring differentiated management to bring all to consistent standard and maturity.

Key Objectives:



Develop and implement a group-wide facility management strategy that aligns and supports the Group, Divisional and Brand strategy and strategic objectives. Establish e a structured and professional Facility Management function and reporting system that is standardised and of high maturity across all Brands and Properties. Achieve cost and operational efficiency across all facility management areas. Improve coordination between Properties and Brands with regards to budgets and scope of services.

Key Responsibilities:



Development and refinement of facility management strategy aligned to and supportive of the ADvTECH group strategy and strategic objectives. Development and refinement of facility management strategy that includes the use of appropriate technology: for utility efficiency and sustainability considerations; operations and maintenance and optimised utility sourcing. Management of teams (office and site teams). Stakeholder management (Exco, Brand MD's, Principals etc.). Utility management and development of reporting system supported by appropriate technology (IOT). Service provider management (SLA's, monthly reports, financial analysis, corrective action etc.). Management accounts and budget management.

Educational Requirements:





Minimum:



Tertiary qualification in built-environment disciplines of architecture, engineering, project management, quantity surveying, and/or facilities management. Bachelors Degree.

Ideal:



Post-graduate qualification in built-environment disciplines of architecture, engineering, project management, quantity surveying, maintenance or construction management and/or facilities management. MBA or Masters Degree equivalent.

Experience Required:



5 years - Strategic facility management. 5 years - Integrated facility management operations, i.e. management of facility services and facility management processes. * 3 years - Management of built-environment technical/engineering aspects including maintenance and utilities management.
