Main Purpose:
Lead, direct, and control the operations of Trafigura's metals and dry logistics assets across Southern Africa--including Zambia, the DRC, and Tanzania--as well as all ongoing activities within Southern Africa. Ensure these operations deliver on both short-term performance targets and long-term strategic objectives in line with the company's overall business plan.
It involves structured processes for planning, acquiring, maintaining, operating, commercialising and optimising of these assets in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:Experience:
10-15 years of experience managing multiple warehousing and logistics assets across Africa.
Extensive experience in Road and Rail logistics with some exposure to sea and vessel operations within the African context.
Proven track record in securing and managing commercial contracts, particularly for inbound non-commodity flows.
Strong background in planning and implementing operational processes, including designing logistics solutions to meet customer requirements, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
Skilled in resource management, including supply chain optimisation, budgeting, forecasting, and collaboration with HR on staff development initiatives.
Committed to quality control, including enforcing safety measures, ensuring required output volumes and quality standards are met, and minimising material waste.
Experience in developing marketing strategies in coordination with senior management, with accountability for profit and loss (P&L) performance.
Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, fostering a high-performance culture, tracking performance through scorecard metrics, and acting as a key interface between management and front line supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
Drive safety, operational excellence, and financial performance across the asset portfolio, ensuring all services are delivered in alignment with broader group standards and expectations.
Develop and oversee budgets, strategic plans, policies, and programs to effectively execute the business's objectives and growth strategy.
Collaborate with other business units and country leaders to ensure alignment and integration of asset strategies with overall corporate goals.
Work closely with local business line managers to maximise growth and EBITDA in line with regional targets, and support the regional management team in delivering results in accordance with business line directives.
Ensure full compliance with company policies, corporate principles, and all applicable local laws and regulations.
Define performance standards and regularly monitor business unit and asset performance in key areas such as operational efficiency, administration, and human resources.
Continuously assess the competitive landscape to identify risks and opportunities, and develop responsive and proactive business plans accordingly.
Serve as the company's representative to key stakeholders in the countries of operation, maintaining strong external relationships and safeguarding Trafigura's interests.
Identify and develop new business opportunities to support growth and long-term value creation.
