Establish accountabilities for problem-solving and cost reduction.
Develop, review, and update written maintenance instructions and schedules.
Provide technical assistance to staff and clients in plant design and operation.
Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for facility improvement.
Prepare tender specifications for outsourced services and procurement.
Ensure good maintenance practices for mechanical, civil, and electrical plant, equipment, and facilities.
Human Resources Management:
Select, motivate, and evaluate staff, providing training and development.
Ensure adherence to company policies within the area of responsibility.
Chair disciplinary enquiries when necessary.
Maintain a productive team environment and identify skills gaps for training.
Statutory Obligations:
Ensure compliance with the OHS Act, Regulations, and applicable standards.
Assist in inspections and enquiries with the Department of Labor Inspector.
Ensure timely and correct statutory inspections.
Advise divisional managers on statutory requirements and support compliance efforts.
Ensure contractors comply with company regulations and the OHS Act.
Participate in pre-construction sessions and respond to Health and Safety Inspectors' inquiries.
Carry out GMR 2(1 or 7) appointee's duties.
Project Management:
Lead the planning and implementation of projects.
Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Define project tasks and resource requirements.
Develop full-scale project plans and manage project budgets.
Assemble and coordinate project staff.
Plan and schedule project timelines.
Track project deliverables and report progress to stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency situations as necessary.
Assume the responsibilities of the departmental head in the absence of the Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering degree with GCC factories certification.
B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
Ideally possess a B.Sc. Mech Eng Degree, GCC factories, Pr Eng, plus PM certification.
5 years of engineering experience, including 2 years as a Senior Engineer.
