Formal diploma or degree in culinary arts - required to secure a work permit
Minimum 5 years' experience as a head chef in a high-end restaurant
Demonstrated experience in restaurant openings or new concept development
Expertise in modern international or fine dining cuisine
Strong kitchen management background: ordering, costing, hygiene, team structures
Experience working in Africa or the Global South an advantage
Excellent communication, training, and team development skills
Hands-on, present leadership style with a focus on quality and consistency
Key responsibilities
Lead the pre-opening kitchen setup, equipment selection, SOPs, and team onboarding
Develop and refine a seasonal, modern menu with costed recipes and plated standards
Manage kitchen operations including hygiene, safety, stock, and waste control
Source and build relationships with local and international suppliers
Maintain food cost and labour targets in line with business goals
Uphold exceptional presentation, consistency, and guest satisfaction
Foster a culture of professionalism, creativity, and team collaboration
Collaborate with senior management on strategy, events, and innovation
