Head Chef - High-End Restaurant - Cape Town
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Head Chef to lead the kitchen of an exclusive, 130-seater restaurant in central Cape Town. Operating under the banner of an internationally recognised South African brand, this restaurant is known for delivering
exceptional, upmarket cuisine with a strong emphasis on international plating standards and flawless presentation.
Although the restaurant works with a set menu, the Head Chef must bring a flair for ongoing creativity, introducing weekly specials and seasonal dishes that keep the offering fresh and exciting for regular guests.
Description

• Lead and inspire a brigade of six chefs, ensuring consistency and excellence across all dishes.
• Uphold the restaurant's reputation for refined, high-quality food presentation that sits just below fine dining, but with the precision and finesse of an international kitchen.
• Drive menu development, seasonal innovation, and supplier relationships to maintain a cutting-edge, world-class offering.
• Ensure smooth operations, cost control, stock management, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a small, close-knit team.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver upmarket, internationally influenced cuisine with impeccable attention to plating and presentation.
• Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, stock and cost controls, and supplier management.
• A passion for culinary creativity, quality, and consistency.

Salary & Benefits

• R25,000 - R28,000 per month, depending on experience.
