Accommodation: Provided Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a creative and charismatic Head Chef to lead the culinary experience at an award-winning 5-star safari lodge in the Eastern Cape. This role calls for a chef who is passionate about storytelling through flavour - someone who brings craft, elegance, and authenticity to every plate, while inspiring and developing a kitchen team to deliver consistently exceptional dining in a luxury lodge environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the culinary team with creativity, discipline, and a passion for excellence Design and continuously evolve menus that reflect local ingredients and refined lodge dining Maintain impeccable kitchen hygiene, safety standards, and cost controls Manage stock levels, ordering, supplier relationships, and monthly stock takes Coordinate with Lodge Management to deliver seamless guest experiences Host and interact with guests when required - sharing culinary inspiration Train; mentor, and grow junior chefs, maintaining a positive and professional kitchen culture Requirements: Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a luxury lodge/hotel environment Ability to design menus that balance elegance, creativity, and practicality Strong leadership and kitchen management skills Excellent organisational and costing abilities Comfortable hosting guests and sharing culinary philosophy Passion for seasonal, sustainable ingredients and refined presentations Package & Benefits: Salary from R20;000 (negotiable based on experience) On-site accommodation included Work in an inspiring natural environment within a celebrated Big 5 Reserve Supportive and growth-focused lodge culture
