Job Title:

Guillotine Operator / Cutter

Job Summary:

A company based in Springfield Park (Durban) in the Printing and Packaging Sector is looking for an experienced Guillotine Operator / Cutter to join their production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating guillotine cutting machines to ensure all printed materials are cut accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is factory-based and requires precision, reliability, and a strong focus on quality control and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate guillotine cutting machines according to job specifications. Ensure materials are cut accurately to size and in the correct sequence for finishing or dispatch. Read and interpret job tickets, layouts, and cutting marks with precision. Maintain the guillotine blade and machine in good working condition through regular checks and cleaning. Monitor output quality, minimize waste, and report any defects or discrepancies immediately. Work closely with the production and finishing teams to meet delivery deadlines. Follow all ISO, health and safety, and housekeeping standards within the factory.

Required Abilities:

Excellent attention to detail and measurement accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability. Good problem-solving and mechanical aptitude. Punctual, disciplined, and quality focused.

Required Skills and Experience:

Matric (Grade 12) essential. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Guillotine Operator or Cutter in a print or packaging environment. Experience operating Polar or similar guillotine machines advantageous. Knowledge of cutting layouts, materials, and safety procedures essential. Understanding of ISO documentation and factory compliance advantageous. Own reliable transport essential.

Salary (CTC) depending on experience.
