An exclusive wine estate in Cape Winelands area is seeking a Guest Experience Hostess to join their front-of-house team on a fixed-term seasonal contract. The successful candidate will be the welcoming face of the venue, ensuring every guest enjoys a warm reception and a memorable dining experience.
Requirements
Grade 12;
hospitality-related qualification i
2-3 years of previous experience in a similar hostess or front-of-house role, preferably in a premium or fine-dining setting.
Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards and guest etiquette.
Familiarity with reservation systems and seating management.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional, well-groomed, and confident in engaging with high-profile guests.
Team-oriented with good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Positive attitude, flexibility, and a calm approach under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Warmly welcome and seat guests in the lounge or restaurant area.
Manage reservations and maintain accurate records of bookings and walk-ins.
Present menus and introduce guests to their waiter or waitress.
Coordinate seating with the service team to ensure smooth table turnover.
Assist with guest inquiries both in person and over the phone.
Maintain a neat and organized hostess desk at all times.
Support guests with special needs or requests, such as families with children or elderly patrons.
Greet guests on departure and thank them for visiting.
Provide assistance to wait staff when required.
