Job Description


JOB PURPOSE Reporting to the Group Sustainability Manager, the Group Transformation Specialist will support the Groupxe2x80x99s broader transformation agenda including the delivery of the Groupxe2x80x99s B-BBEE strategy as relates to the South African business. The Group Transformation Specialist will focus on driving performance in respect of the Groupxe2x80x99s Preferential Procurement, Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) initiatives in line with the Groupxe2x80x99s ESD policy guidelines and procedures. In addition, this role will be responsible for providing technical input into the B-BBEE scorecard, consolidating information required for B-BBEE verification and being the main point of contact with the verification agency. The role will provide admin support to the Executive Transformation Committee, as required, and will be responsible for compiling the required reporting to Executive and the Social & Ethics Committee. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Develop a Strategic and Integrated Approach to Achieve and Maintain BBBEE Performance and Scorecard:

  • Provide input into the BBBEE strategy and approach.
  • Identify current and potential risks regarding BBBEE compliance and assist in the development of strategies and policies to mitigate these.
  • Assist in the development of specific policy and strategy for enterprise and supplier development, including preferential procurement.
  • Provide support for the periodic BBBEE committee meetings with scorecard element owners.
  • Encourage stakeholders to support the development and setting aside of procurement opportunities to support Enterprise and Supplier Development initiatives.
  • Develop and manage an ESD digital platform, which will provide a mechanism for stakeholders to access procurement, enterprise, and supplier development opportunities.
Maintain Technical Knowledge:
  • Keep abreast of BBBEE legislation and provide guidance, expertise and direction to ensure alignment to BBBEE strategy
  • Conduct awareness, education and sensitisation sessions on BBBEE initiatives
  • Assist business units to remain compliant to BBBEE requirements
Preferential Procurement:
  • Working closely with Finance and Procurement teams in the operating companies, identify improvement opportunities for the companyxe2x80x99sxe2x80x99 preferential procurement approach.
  • Lead and facilitate periodic meetings with Procurement teams to align strategies, share and monitor progress and drive collective performance.
  • Create and maintain a preferential procurement database for approved black owned suppliers.
  • Identify and create development plans and sourcing strategies to introduce and incorporate new QSExe2x80x99s, EMExe2x80x99s, Black Owned and Black Female Owned businesses.
  • Implement programmes to develop and overcome barriers for identified suppliers in achieving required standards to be a preferred vendor to Aspen.
  • For Holdings, ensure the validity of BBBEE certification of suppliers and, where necessary, interact with applicable Business Units, Purchasing Managers and Suppliers to obtain these.
  • Collate information from business units and prepare a consolidated quarterly preferential procurement scorecard report.
Enterprise And Supplier Development:
  • Assist in the implementation of the process for the receipt, evaluation, awarding, administration and monitoring of enterprise and supplier development loans.
  • Engage with Group Treasury to ensure the effective administration of loan invoices and statements.
  • Collate information and prepare a consolidated enterprise and supplier development report.
  • Facilitate periodic evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of the Groupxe2x80x99s ESD initiatives.
Support The Scorecard Verification Process:
  • Co-ordinate with functional/business units to obtain the necessary documentation to support the verification process.
  • Preparing the BBBEE file for submission, verification, and assistance throughout the process with the rating agency.
  • Assist in preparing the required SENS and submissions to ensure compliance with legislation.
Broader Transformation Objectives:
  • In terms of the broader sustainability strategy, provide support for initiatives relating to supplier development, localisation and sustainable procurement practices.


JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Post matric qualification in Accounting, Business Administration, or Supply Chain.
  • At least 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience within procurement, supply chain or preferential procurement.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND REGISTRATIONS:
  • Technical understanding of the B-BBEE Act, B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice and related legislation.
WORK-SPECIFIC SKILLS & EXPOSURE:
  • Exposure to management of preferential procurement scorecard performance.
  • Coordination of supplier & enterprise development programmes.
  • Good understanding of the B-BBEE verification processes.
