Job Description

Purpose of Role





To undertake detailed geological modelling, resource estimation, reporting and integrity of the geological database, as well as the periodic review of the performance of those models against production to support development, planning and operational decisions at Tharisa PLC operations and projects.




Context of Role




Deliver and develop robust procedures, processes, and capabilities in the resource evaluation domain, including sound protocols and controls to support the workflow of resource evaluation. Develop and implement plans for improvement of current systems to contribute to ongoing Resource evaluation and expansion. Conduct geological evaluation of resources using tools that identify and minimise risks, cut costs and reduce time frames. Produce code compliant Estimations of Mineral Resources. Develop detailed Resource models to support development, planning and operational decisions for Tharisa PLC. Reconcile mineral resource, ore reserve, grade control model and metallurgy recoveries. Develop reconciliation factors. Maintain the geological Resource database, ensuring data quality. Provide input into required changes in resources (financial or non-financial) to enable the achievement of team and/or own objectives. Determine resource needs of the team and/or own area of work to achieve business outcomes. Communicate with all relevant Departments on issues of the area of speciality. Liaise across the relevant Departments by engaging with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure all stakeholders remain abreast of Departmental objectives, any potential derailers are appropriately managed and duplication of work is avoided. Maintain statutory and internal reporting as required, ensuring all required Mineral Resource Statements and Competent Person's Reports are completed and distributed on time and comply with relevant reporting codes and standards (e.g., SAMREC), including applicable legal requirements.


Qualifications




Bachelor of Science Honours Degree (NQF8) Member of professional body (SACNASP_Pr.Sci.Nat.) Competent Person for SAMREC / JORC or Qualified Person for NI 43-101



Job Specific experience




A minimum of fifteen - (15) years of experience, of which at least five (5) years' experience in Resource estimation. Resource Modelling and Estimation experience with emphasis on Chrome and PGEs Expert User in the use of geological modelling and geological data/information management software (preferably Sable/Datamine/Surpac) 5 years' experience in SAMREC/SAMVAL Codes Geoscience and technical knowledge of the practical application of principles, techniques, procedures, systems and equipment to the design and implementation of appropriate databases and models.
