Job Summary DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Purpose of Role: Human resource management is responsible for the effective designing, implementation and updating of various policies, procedures and programs in accordance with all applicable Legislation. Developing and managing knowledge, skills, creativity, aptitude and talent and using them optimally. Developing and managing harmonious relationships in the workplace and striking a balance between organizational goals and individual goals. Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and provide HR support to achieve their goals. Actioning, coordinating and monitoring of Employment Equity Plans, Skills Development Plans and BBBEE Scorecards with all stakeholders, which includes the timeous submission of all information. Identifying and addressing gaps in respect of Employment Equity Plan, Skills Development Plan and employee skills. The HR Manager will work with managers to identify areas where the organization lacks the necessary to achieve its BBBEE, EE and Skills goals. Take full responsibility of the EE Master system (Skills functionality, System, control and execution) The HR Manager will develop and implement training and development programs to address these gaps and help employees acquire the skills they need to contribute to the organization''s success. Progress reports to Management in respect of Employment Equity and Skills Development. Succession Planning - Compiling the annual retention risk matrix and critical positions as part of the talent management process and liaising with Managing Director and other Senior Management with regards to the implementation of retention strategies for high-risk individuals implementation, analysis and evaluation. Understand the business units operating environment and apply awareness of the business units operational goals and objectives when implementing HR programs and addressing escalated HR Issues. Monitor and ensure that all entities are registered with the appropriate SETA and act as company skills development facilitator. Strike Contingency planning / strike resolution. Receiving Mandates on Wage Negotiations Work with the departmental Managers with respect to disciplinary action required, including preparation of documents, investigation of any offence, scheduling hearings, and attendance at hearings. Managegrievancesandgrievanceprocedurestimeouslyandensuremanagementisupdated. Negotiate collective bargaining agreements with the representative union and management. Represent the company at the CCMA or Labour court referrals together with the companys labour representatives. Use discretion and always maintain confidentiality. Accountable and responsible for the effective management of the remuneration and rewards processes and employee benefits. Monthly Quarterly and annual reports. Review Monthly Payroll (Internal Audits). Employee files to be reviewed (Completeness and up to Standard) (Include contracts and comply with law and POPI act) Oversee proper record keeping in the Group. Compile company policies (Recruitment Policy, Leave cycles, Remuneration, Bonus Calculations, Grievance procedure, Disciplinary Procedure etc.) Custodian of all group Organograms. Report on Compliment (Head count) (Over/Under, workload analysis, optimisation) Overall management of Leave & COIDA Provision. DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION Education: Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management A post graduate qualification will be advantageous. Experience: Proven work experience as an HR / IR Manager or similar role (Minimum amount of experience required is 8 years of which 3 years in an executive capacity) Requirements: Proven track record of being part of an Exco Team as well as having inter-acted with Board of Directors Sound understanding of the Financial Drivers in an HR/IR and Payroll environment. Knowledge of Bargaining Council rules will be advantageous. Proven track record of successful negotiations with Unions Knowledge of regulations and compliance as it relates to Human Resources and South African law. Strong Leadership ability Experience with HR /IR, Payroll, Skills Development Employment Equity and BBBEE and the respective systems applicable to these job functions. Defined Competencies: Excellent negotiation and communication skills Must have a proven track record of the ability to lead a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Setting objectives for the HR team and tracking progress. Ability to perform well under pressure. Demonstrates high energy enthusiasm and motivation in execution of work. Approach own work with dedication and high sense of responsibility Sound knowledge of the following: Employment equity Act. Skills Development Act. B-BBEE Act. BCEA.
