The organisation is a JSE listed company with a global footprint. They have a number of stable entities which are performing well within the mining, agriculture and chemical manufacturing markets. The company has been operating for over 100 years.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- The purpose of the role is for the successful professional to interpret and apply IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) principles across the group of companies
- Qualified CA(SA)
- Group consolidation environment dealing with multiple entities in multiple currencies
- Must have strong automated consolidations experience in Cognos or HFM
- 5 years commercial experience within the Mining, Manufacturing, Engineering, Oil and Gas and/or Construction sectors
- Prior experience in consolidations
- Technically sound with IFRS
- Advanced Excel knowledge and experience
- Develop accounting policies and manuals to facilitate adherence to IFRS
- Assist in drafting group financial statements in line with IFRS, Companies Act, JSE, regulations and best practice
- Review subsidiary financial statements and provide guidance on disclosures, adhering to IFRS requirements and Companies Act
- Create relevant reporting frameworks and templates for use in the business, including financial statement templates, with a particular focus on international operations and improved disclosures
