Job Description
Position: Group Accountant
Location: Cape Town (Southern Suburbs)
Salary: R 600 000 to R 780 000 (depends on experience)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Position sits at the Group level of a JSE listed business
- Directly report to the Group Financial Manager
- Quick financial support to the CFO and Group Executives, to enable quick decision making in a fast paced and moving environment
- Completion of statutory annual financial statements for all Group legal entities
- Design and compile the forecasting process
- Assist with the annual and interim reporting processes
- Informing finance members throughout the Group of technical updates
- Assist with IFRS or other regulatory interpretation papers and implementing new accounting standards across the Group
- Regulatory financial reporting
- Identify weakness in internal controls
- External reporting
- Keep up to date with IFRS standards and all accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
- Assist with external analyst/investor queries
- Audit queries
- IFRS implementation
- Ad hoc
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Newly qualified up to 2 years post articles
- Implementing best practice accounting policies
- Ensuring compliance of accounting provisions in terms of IFRS and legislation
- Accuracy in Financial Reporting with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Work well under pressure with tight deadlines (JSE listed)
- Time Management skills
- Good teamwork and collaborative skills
