Purpose of the Job

To prepare the statutory and management reports of the Group with the objective of providing shareholders, management and other stakeholders accurate financial information (prepared in accordance with applicable statutory regulations and rules) and value added analysis for the purpose of informed decision making.

What you'll have done before:

Baseline:
  • CA (SA) with a minimum of 1-year post-articles experience at supervisory or managerial level in a finance or audit context
  • Demonstrable strength and flair in financial accounting/IFRS
  • And post-articles experience at Supervisory level in a finance or Audit context
  • Previous hands-on consolidation experience for a large group of companies similar to Engen in an external audit context or in commerce.
Advantageous:
  • Knowledge of SAP and SAP BPC consolidation system
  • Caseware experience
  • An understanding of petroleum industry

What you'll be doing:
  • Oversee and perform the consolidation process
  • Oversee and perform the consolidation process
  • Management accounting - Financial accounting - Group accounting
  • Produce: consolidated balance sheets, consolidated income statements, consolidated cash flows, group management accounts and divisionalised management accounts
  • Perform operational and financial analysis
  • Forecast results and be involved in annual business planning
  • Provide technical accounting support
  • Management of group statutory audit process
  • Drafting annual financial statements
  • Ensuring a fully operational consolidation and reporting system
