Graduate Development Programme - Chemistry X2
Minimum Requirements
Four years qualifications (NQF 8) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
Experience in research projects and techniques.
Primary Duties

• Development and validation of new analytical methods, or enhancement of existing ones, within the field of Analytical Chemistry.
• Execution of complex analyses and provide technical and scientific troubleshooting for analytical methods and laboratory instrumentation.
• Documentation and checking of results on the identified databases
• Performance and documentation of all quality control checks of identified analytical test according to the ISO 17025 accreditation system.
• Undertaking routine and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation including maintaining comprehensive documentation.
• Adherence to all Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) practices and uphold excellent housekeeping principles within the work environment.

Knowledge

• Knowledge and understanding of analytical chemistry methods and techniques
• Knowledge of good laboratory practice (GLP)
• Basic statistical knowledge
• Knowledge and understanding of Project Management

Skills

• Computer literacy in Word Processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to prioritise, organise and plan.
• Skilled in the application of analytical methodologies and instrument techniques
• Effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Quality and output driven person who can handle pressure and routine work.
• Ability to interact with staff and customers
• Team worker but must also be able to work independently
