GRADE 6 AND 7 ENGLISH / SOCIAL SCIENCES

INTERMEDIATE PHASE - POST LEVEL ONE EDUCATOR

A small, public family orientated Atlantic Seaboard school in Cape Town. The school is a modern Google school using innovative technology in its teaching.

Our client strives to help pupils find their own talents and through a nurturing approach, develop all learners strengths. Our client has a high academic standard and a good cultural and watersport tradition.

The school is looking for a very experienced yet dynamic, tech savvy Grade 6 English and Social Sciences and Grade 7 English educator that fits our ethos and who will bring passion, and innovative ideas into the classroom. Skills in counselling and an interest in learner counselling would be an advantage. The school is seeking to build more diversity into the curriculum and into the staffing establishment to broaden the cultural and racial ethos of the school environment.

Skills and attributes required:

• Good organisational ability
• Working knowledge of CAPS curriculum ( at least 10 years teaching experience )
• Excellent EQ aligned to our child - centred approach
• Ability to be a versatile team player
• Excellent interpersonal and social skills with staff, parents and pupils. Accomplished computer skills and use of multi-media in the classroom
• Extra-Mural Sports Programme: willingness to be involved in or manage one of the Summer and Winter sports codes such as water polo, swimming, tennis, soccer, netball, squash, tag rugby, cross country.
• Willingness to be involved in all aspects of school life and extra after hours functions where required..

Commencing date is 1 January 2024.
