Job Description

We are seeking the services of a dynamic professional to join our team as the Golf Club Manager.

The Golf Club Manager is a dynamic leadership role responsible for driving all aspects of the golf operations and food & beverage services at Ba-Phalaborwa Golf Club, a privately owned golf club committed to delivering premium golf and dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:



Financial Administration:



Prepare and manage budgets for golf and F&B departments, ensuring alignment with overall club financial goals.

Monitor financial performance, generate reports, and provide monthly updates to senior leadership.

Oversee revenue streams including green fees, merchandise sales, and F&B income.

Implement cost control measures to optimize profitability and minimize waste.

Develop and manage departmental budgets, track KPIs, and control labour and inventory costs.

Customer Experience:



Collaborate with Head of Golf to align the business goals to the vision, mission and core values of the Owner.

Ensure the highest levels of hospitality and service throughout the facility.

Plan and execute member events, tournaments, and special functions.

Work closely with marketing to launch campaigns that increase foot traffic, event participation, and seasonal promotions, tracks visitor feedback.

Serve as a key point of contact for guests, tournament sponsors, and event organizers to secure repeat business and referrals.

Serve as the primary liaison for golf and F&B-related member/guest feedback and resolution.

o Communications, manages regular newsletters and what's app groups, builds and maintains customer contact databases including members, visitors, local business management and local society management,

o promote club events through notice boards, in-shop notices, word-of-mouth, email, web site and social networks,

o promote the Club Facilities to local business management and societies through word-of-mouth, targeted marketing via email and invitations to visit and / or play golf,

Golf Operations:



Manage the overall golf operations including tee time scheduling, tournaments, guest services, and pro shop coordination.

Collaborate with course maintenance and instructional staff to ensure top-tier golf experiences.

Monitor pace of play, course usage, and implement policies for optimal player satisfaction.

Oversee all golf-related activities including practice area supervision and golf cart management

Ensure the golf shop is well-stocked, professionally merchandised, and profitable.

Implement programs to drive participation in member tournaments, leagues, clinics, corporate outings, and instructional programs that attract new customers and generate incremental income.

Develop marketing initiatives to grow membership, rounds played, event participation and golf development programs.

Food & Beverage:



Oversee daily operations of the club's restaurant, bar, and halfway house food service.

Coordinate with chefs and F&B staff to ensure high-quality food, service, and cleanliness.

Develop and implement seasonal menus using fresh local produce, beverage promotions, pricing strategies, and special event offerings.

Develop creative F&B offerings tailored to golf events, socials, private parties, holidays, and peak periods to enhance profitability.

Monitor vendor relationships, inventory, and supply procurement.

Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and service across all outlets.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, hygiene and licensing standards.

Staff Management:



Recruit, train, and supervise staff across all golf and F&B operations

Schedule personnel to maintain excellent service standards while managing labour costs.

Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and training initiatives.

Oversee staffing, service standards, inventory, and vendor relations to ensure cost-effective and consistent operations.

Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Inspire and lead high-performing golf and F&B teams with a focus on accountability, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:



Grade 12 or equivalent, A PGA membership or background in golf. Driver's License essential.

Experience



3-5 Years of experience in golf operations and/or hospitality management. Strong knowledge of golf operations, tournament planning, and customer services best practices. Proven F&B management experience including event planning, cost control, and staffing.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R20000,00 - R25000,00 per month
