Job Description


Our client, a Global Leader in the multinational packaging industry space is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a suitably qualified and experienced, highly competent Regional Procurement Manager, to be based in one of their Cape Town, Johannesburg, or Durban operations.

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE:

  • To report directly into the EMEAA Director.
  • To demonstrate in-depth experience in implementing global strategies in line with their global corporate program, evincing highly honed experience in managing procurement and strategies for multiple plants across Africa and who has acquired exposure to sourcing and supplier management within countries in the East.
  • To demonstrate a solidly grounded background in the packaging, FMCG or related industry.
  • To demonstrate working knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices and Lean Manufacturing Principals.
KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
  • At Minimum a degree in supply chain or business, coupled with an advanced qualification, such as an MBA or MBL.
  • At least 10 years experience in progressive sourcing, contract negotiation, and strategy development within the packaging or FMCG industry.
  • Possess extensive and intensive experience in sourcing for multiple plants in Southern Africa and into Africa, as well as managing suppliers in Eastern Countries such as Malaysia.
  • Have proven experience in cost reduction, lead and execution of cross-functional initiatives such as risk assessments, RFQ criteria and supplier relations management programs.
  • Possess sound negotiations skills, and the capacity to exemplify leadership excellence in terms of fostering a strong service ethos and a motivational approach to internal staff leadership at all levels.
  • Have an irreproachable track record which will be amply punctuated with irrefutable evidence of sound financial budget management, cost management and CAPEX alignment to corporate goals.
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail, be highly analytical, communicate effectively and be results driven.
