1. Education & Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

N3-N6 Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Trade Test Certificate - e.g. Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, or Millwright.

Preferred Additions:

Generator automation experience Generator controller programming

2. Experience

Minimum Experience:

2-3 years working on diesel generators (installation, repair, maintenance)

Preferred Experience:

Experience with ATS panels, DSE, Lovato & Smartgen controller wiring and programing Load testing and fault-finding on gensets from 10kVA to 1000kVA+

3. Skills

Electrical fault finding (AC/DC) Engine mechanical repairs (diesel engines) Preventative maintenance Knowledge of control panels (e.g. Deep Sea, Lovato & Smartgen) Safety compliance (OHSA, lockout, etc.)

4. Compliance / Other Requirements

Valid driver's license No criminal record Ability to work overtime / standby Ability to travel to remote sites

We are seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of diesel generators ranging from 10kVA to 1000kVA. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and the ability to work independently on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, commission, and service diesel generators Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical faults Perform load testing and preventative maintenance Work on control panels (e.g. Deep Sea, Lovato, Smartgen) Maintain service records and complete job cards Adhere to all health and safety protocols Participate in standby, overtime, and emergency call-outs
