To undertake installations and electrical repairs of generators and other electrical appliances, ensuring effective and safe electrical connections to minimize the probability of accidents and maximize usability on all sites. To ensure efficient and professional electrical installations of generators
Technical Responsibilities
- Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning diesel generators and other electrical systems.
- Installing and maintaining of gensets and other electrical equipment.
- Fault finding on genset control and generators
- Programming and modifying controllers
- Must have excellent understanding of Synchronization System's Deep Sea 86xx controllers, ComAp and Datakom Synchtonization Systems.
- Changing gensets from 3 phase to single phase vice versa
- Doing site supervision and inspection
- Attending to call outs when required
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
- Ensuring that all electrical work and connections conform to various regulations and SANS codes.
- Ensuring that all DB and generators conform to the various government regulations
- Installing new generators, ATS and Synch panels as and when required
- Assisting with site repairs as and when required
- Recording all equipment repair job cards on OPUS
- Ensuring that company vehicle is always kept maintained and clean.
- Installations, in Gauteng or other provinces, assisting of technicians.
- Breakdowns, assisting other technicians, servicing, assisting clients over the phone and other maintenance needs within reason
- Organising of stock before installations.
- Site inspections and the also ensuring the full completion of the installation.
- After hour and weekend technical assistance, within reason.
- Update all controllers received from suppliers to confirm to SANS and SABS standards.
Management Responsibilities
- Daily management of those responsible for vehicles, generator and bowser refuelling
- Supervising all generators built in the workshop, to complete PDI's and ensure the quality of the assembly.
- Planning and providing leadership to all staff and addressing issues when instructed to or when the need arrives.
- Provide leadership and create a clear path of communication between management and junior staff.
- Assigning jobs to all technicians in conjunction with operations manager and operations executive.
- Assisting and managing workshop with electrical tasks i.e. reconfiguration and wiring.
- Setting up of meetings when management is required to be part of resolving the issues.
- Plan & Execute Weekly Operation tasks for various team in conjunction with operations manager and operations executive. (Service & Repair Technicians /Refuel & Maintenance Technicians)
- Motivating, training and upskilling technicians and other staff members
- Strictly complying with all company policies and the Code of Conduct.
