Job Title: General Security Engineer

Johannesburg (Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled

General Security Engineer

to join our team The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

,

email security

, and

forwarding proxy solutions

, along with a solid understanding of general security engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement, configure, and manage

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

across enterprise environments. Monitor and enhance

email security

systems to prevent phishing, spam, and malware threats. Support and maintain

forwarding proxy solutions

to ensure secure web access and traffic filtering. Collaborate with IT and security teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities. Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures. Conduct regular security assessments and provide recommendations for improvement. Stay updated with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience with

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

. Strong understanding of

email security protocols

and tools. Experience with

forwarding proxy solutions

(e.g., Zscaler, Blue Coat, etc.). General knowledge of

security engineering

principles and practices. Familiarity with incident response and threat analysis. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a hybrid team environment.

Preferred Certification:

Relevant certifications such as

Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate

,

CompTIA Security+

, or

CISSP

. * Experience in enterprise-level security environments.
