Job Description

Role Summary

To oversee the overall operations of the restaurant, ensuring profitability, high-quality service, staff satisfaction, and a superior guest experience, while aligning with the strategic goals of the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Management
- Provide strong leadership to FOH and BOH managers, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals and objectives.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive and professional work environment.

2. Operational Oversight
- Oversee all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service. - Ensure all restaurant areas meet and exceed health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor and improve operational workflows to enhance customer experience and efficiency.

3. Financial Management
- Develop and manage the restaurant's budget, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Analyse financial reports to monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee inventory control, cost management, and procurement to ensure profitability

4. Customer Experience
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high standards of service and product quality.
- Address customer feedback and complaints promptly, using insights to drive improvements.
- Stay attuned to market trends and customer preferences to keep the restaurant competitive.

5. Staff Development and Performance
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring staff are motivated and engaged.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear goals, and provide ongoing feedback.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

6. Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all legal, health, and safety regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Prepare and present monthly detailed reports on operational and financial performance to the group manager, and any other details which may be of importance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and legal requirements.

7. Marketing and Community Engagement
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and implement strategies that drive customer engagement and revenue growth.

8. Strategic Planning
- Participate in the development of long-term business strategies and objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities, new revenue streams, and potential risks, and propose actionable solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Extensive experience in a restaurant management role, with a proven track record of success. Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From R15000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Wynberg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:

General Manager: 5 years (Preferred) Restaurants: 5 years (Required)
Work Location: In person
