Our client is a leading South African manufacturer of industrial steam, hot water, and heat generation solutions. With a reputation for innovation, quality, and energy efficiency, that serves clients across diverse industries including food, beverage, mining, manufacturing, and energy.

Position Overview:



The General Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the overall operations of the company. This includes strategic planning, business development, financial performance, operations management, customer satisfaction, and team leadership. The GM will ensure that all business functions are aligned with company goals while maintaining the highest standards of product quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:



Strategic Leadership



Develop and implement business strategies aligned with the company's vision and growth objectives. Identify new market opportunities and oversee expansion initiatives both locally and internationally. Lead innovation in product development, particularly in energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable technologies.

Operations Management



Oversee manufacturing, production, engineering, procurement, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality outputs. Streamline operations and improve efficiency through process improvements and lean methodologies. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.

Sales and Business Development



Drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships, key account management, and the development of new sales channels. Work closely with the Sales Director and marketing team to position the company as a market leader. Maintain strong client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction across all projects.

Financial Oversight



Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor key financial metrics to ensure profitability and cost efficiency. Provide regular reports to the board on performance, opportunities, and risks.

Team Leadership and Development



Build and maintain a high-performing leadership team across departments. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Implement talent development programs and succession planning initiatives.

Key Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred). Minimum of 10 years' experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role. In-depth knowledge of steam and heat generation systems is strongly preferred. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects. Strong commercial acumen and financial management experience. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Pay: R600000,00 - R750000,00 per year
