The role of GM is available for an intensive farming practice, reporting to the Production director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operations of the Farm.

• Finance planning to meet Opex and Capex budgets
• Develop and implement Field program in Consultation with Agri Stakeholders
• Plan, action, orientate and monitor outcomes of production plan and adjust to meet with crop performance and quality results
• Procurement of all material and equipment to meet production requirements and budget
• Develop & implement maintenance plans of all equipment
• Develop and evaluate Inventory system to minimize losses and maximize asset usage
• Evaluate, develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize loss
• Evaluate and develop appropriate logistics plan to meet all operational requirements
• Evaluate and develop estate management needs and prepare annual plan to meet Legislative and Audit Standards
• Evaluate and develop an effective security management strategy to eliminate risk to property and person
• Monitor and enforce all health and safety measures according to legislation
• Evaluate specifications and forecasts to establish strategic plans to meet customer needs.
• Adhere to and implement food safety compliance standards according to auditing authority
• Relationship building with all relevant stake holders to ensure best results

Minimum requirements:

• Relevant Tertiary qualification
• Experience in a horticultural environment and/or substrate farming
• 7-10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a Senior Agriculture Managers
• Excellent planning and project management skills and experience
• Financial acumen, including budgeting and financial controls
• Possess excellent leadership, organisational and communication skill

Job Type: Full-time Salary: R15,163.52 - R63,902.33 per month Ability to commute/relocate:

• Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• Bachelors (Required)

Experience:

• Senior Farm Management: 5 years (Required)
• Finance Management: 3 years (Required)
• Soft Fruit or Vegetable Farming: 1 year (Preferred)
• Table Grape Farming: 1 year (Preferred)
