Our client, a high-end luxury apartment-style hospitality operation in Hermanus Western Cape, is seeking an experienced General Manager to take full responsibility for operational performance, guest satisfaction and financial outcomes. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role ideal for a commercially minded hospitality professional who thrives in a premium guest environment.
Description
The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of a well-established apartment hospitality property with multiple units and a medium-sized team. The role requires active involvement across all departments including front desk, housekeeping, porters, maintenance and security, ensuring consistently high service standards and effective service recovery.
A strong focus is placed on guest experience and online reputation management, with responsibility for maintaining excellent OTA review scores and handling escalated guest matters personally. Financial accountability includes driving occupancy, ADR and RevPAR, managing departmental budgets, authorising refunds and upgrades within policy, and ensuring accurate revenue allocation.
People management is central to this role. You will recruit, train and motivate staff, manage rosters and performance, and ensure compliance with hospitality labour legislation. The role also involves oversight of property maintenance, contractor management and stakeholder communication, ensuring the asset is maintained to premium standards.
This position offers a basic salary of R30 000 per month, with a performance-based bonus of up to R5 000 per month, linked to clearly defined operational and financial KPIs.
Minimum Requirements
