Job Description

A prominent organization within the infrastructure and energy sector is seeking a senior legal executive to lead its legal operations division. This pivotal, on-site leadership role drives internal capability, reduces legal spending, and supports group-level restructuring.
Minimum Requirements:

LLB or B Proc (NQF 8) plus an admitted attorney/ advocate.
10+ years' post-admission experience.
Legal operations, corporate law, governance experience essential.
Experience managing senior legal teams and cross-functional alignment.
Exposure to both private and public sector environments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Driving the legal function's strategic and operational maturity during unbundling/restructuring.
Reducing legal costs by building robust in-house capacity and better managing external panels.
Addressing repeat audit findings and embedding effective legal knowledge management.
Establishing and enforcing consistent frameworks, workflows and controls.
Leading the transformation of legal operations into a world-class internal capability.
Litigation or dispute resolution exposure is advantageous.
Capable of engaging at board and EXCO level, while also building team capability and improving internal processes.
Must have led or significantly contributed to legal operations., internal structuring or a legal center of excellence.
