Job Description


Our client, a proudly South African supply chain, logistics and import & exports company, seeks your management experience to set high standards and goals for achievement in more than one functional area and take ownership of the respective region.Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
  • General management experience, with approximately 5 years' proven experience at Senior Management level.
  • Commercial and Operational experience in warehousing, supply chain, logistics and refined metal exports in Africa.
  • Experience in commodity exports/imports, in Africa.
Key Performance Areas:
  • Operations excellence and management.
  • Strategy formulation and implementation.
  • Staff management.
  • Supply chain.
  • Finance.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Report to the Operations Director:
  • Achieve regional goals and revenue targets.
  • Ensure compliance to Customs and SARS requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations and management of regional budget and costs.
  • Ensure collaboration and synergies between Operations and Commercial teams in the region.
  • Engage regularly and meet with key customers.
  • Drive commercially focused business vision for the region.
  • Develop performance objectives for the regional team in line with national targets.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, rail & ports, to ensure an effective and efficient supply chain.
  • Prepare, analyse and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Develop a culture of operational excellence and ensure it's embedded in the region.
  • Ensure customer service requirements are met and exceeded.
  • Design regional strategy and set goals for growth.
