Job Description


Hospitality and Outdoor- Apply Today- General Manager Safari Hotel- Mpumalanga (Greater Kruger) To direct and manage the Hotel to ensure the efficient, profitable, productive and quality operation of the Hotel, Food & Beverage, Operations and Finance & Administration Divisions. The role also encompasses profitability, employee relations and customer relations. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 yearsxe2x80x99 Experience in a GM or Senior Management position, in a medium to large size Hotel/Lodge-Essential
  • Hospitality/Tourism / Business management related tertiary qualification at NQF 6 level
  • Degree in Business or Similar
  • Experience in Management within the hotel & accommodation industry
  • Extensive background in all areas of management, with special emphasis in either finance, human resources, F&B and or Rooms Division . Proven track record in the efficient and effective management of operations and employees through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Excellent understanding, knowledge and experience of the hotel industry
  • Knowledge of legislation within hospitality industry
  • Sound knowledge of people management principles
  • Computer literacy, written and verbal contracts
  • Preference will be given to SA Citizens
Description (Summary)
  • Ensure a friendly, clean, comfortable and exciting atmosphere is maintained throughout the property complex
  • Ensure that a cooperative and professional rapport is maintained by employees with all external contracts
  • Establish the annual Company Business Plan, Operating Budget and Capital Budget and presentation to the Head Office for approval
  • Allocating funds and authorizing expenditures in line with the Companyxe2x80x99s budget, goal and objectives
  • Develop and maintain a qualified, cohesive executive and management team
  • Protect the Companyxe2x80x99s license to operate by ensuring adherence to all laws and legal requirements
  • Utilise considerable independent judgement in decisions that influence Hotel Operations.
  • Listen appropriately and empower and include team members in setting the direction for the team
  • Consistently monitor performance of hotel team
  • Identify substandard performance by hotel team and take necessary corrective action
  • Actively coaching, support, advise and mentor team members
  • Plan ahead and communicate team performance standards and objectives
