Job Description

Sal circa 100k per month plus med aid and Provident fund (highly negotiable)Exciting role for an EXPERIENCED GENERAL MANAGER to work for a joint venture between two international maritime companies. The role reports directly to EXCO.Essential Experience

• A minimum of 10 (Ten) yearsxe2x80x99 EXPERIENCE IN ROAD AND SEA LOGISTICS, with 5 (Five) yearsxe2x80x99 experience being in a Senior Management position, preferably in General Management in a maritime and logistics company .
• Degree pref MBA
• Sound commercial and financial experience in compiling financial reports and calculating PnL and profit margins
• Import and Export knowledge essential.
• Experience in reporting to the Executive management team and assisting with creating and implementing strategy
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience with local and international shareholders

Preferable Experience

• Experience in transportation and import and export of commodities ( hard and soft)
• Experience in warehousing

Operations

• Strategically manage the entire Warehouse Function of both inland and sea ports.
• Ensure implementation of all Operational Policies and Procedures, and introduce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPxe2x80x99s) where necessary
• Responsible for Occupational Health and Safety. (OHS)
• Implementation and maintenance of equipment and ensure the effective and safe use of Warehouse equipment.
• Complete the entire process for claims and or damages, and report to EXCO on the steps to alleviate future claims and or damages.
• Ensure stock levels of all cargo are accounted for on a continuous basis by use of the relevant systems.

People Management

• Introduce, implement staff performance reviews.
• Introduce, implement, and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIxe2x80x99s).

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with customers and transporters.

Financial Management

• We are looking for someone with sound commercial and financial acumen capable of compiling financial reports and calculating PnL The successful candidate will be responsible for improving profit margins.
