Job Description

Purpose





To lead and direct the division with responsibility for divisional strategy, inspections, type approval, assessments, drafting of technical regulations, corporate governance and risk management, people management and ensuring that all relevant legislation is complied to.


KPA/Key Output




Lead and Direct the Division including Business
Planning,
Strategy Development and Improvements Lead and Manage the Division Establish and Maintain Strategic Partnerships with Government Departments, Industry and Foreign Missions; Oversee the monitoring of compliance of Products Regulated to the Relevant Legislation Facilitate the Development and Amendments of Technical Regulations in the Accountable Field Lead and Direct the Harmonization of Technical Regulations and Participate in National, Regional and International Forums Oversee and Take Accountability for the Accreditation of Inspections, Approvals, and Assessment Functions for the Accountable Field People Management Financial Management Corporate Governance and Risk Management;


Requirements/ Experience




B Tech or B Degree (NQF level 7) in
Chemical / Mechanical Engineering or

Natural Sciences
Post-graduate qualification in the above
fields or Business Management provides

added advantage.
10 years in the related field, of which 5
years have been at a senior

management level


Knowledge and Skills




In-depth knowledge of the legislation and Regulations related to the accountable field; Working knowledge of the NRCS act; In-depth knowledge of regional and international treaties,
trade protocols and mutual acceptance arrangements;
In-depth knowledge of quality management systems; In-depth knowledge of corporate governance policies and procedures; In-depth knowledge of business strategy, planning and reporting processes; Working knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA); Very good knowledge of financial management and budgeting; Very good management skills and knowledge; Working knowledge of risk management
