Job Description

The Eastern Cape Gambling Board is a statutory body established for the purposes of regulating gambling in the Eastern Cape Province. The Board is located in the scenic coastal city of East London.
Requirements: Relevant National Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in ICT and/ or Information Systems Audit o 2 years in gambling and / or compliance or regulatory environment o Advanced Computer literacy o A valid Code 8 Driver's License.
Competencies and Skills: o Knowledge of other applicable legislation o Ability to detect, investigate and prevent illegal gambling o Ability to identify potential problems within internal controls o Ability to draw valid conclusion from an array of evidence o Attention to detail o Report writing skills o Conflict resolution skills o Good communication skills o Knowledge of the ECGB, National Gambling, Standards, Companies, POPIA, FIC, Acts o Stakeholder management skills.
Key Performance Areas: o Testing new and/ or modified gaming systems o Reviewing of betting and gambling internal control systems. o Initiate issuance of Certificate of Approval for Senior's review and Management's approval o Communicate compliance policies and guidelines to all licensees as and when necessary and authorised. o Review, maintain and report on the daily compliance control reports to identify any potential risks and work with stakeholders on any required implementation of changes. o Assist Inspectorate with the closure of illegal betting and gambling protocols when identified. o Assists in the designing and finalization of internal procedures as well as training programs. o Assists in planning and implementing compliance measures. o Conduct and report on reviews of Conditional Letters of Certification (C-LoC) from National Regulator for Compulsory Specification (NRCS) and follow up on required action. o Conduct and report on reviews of Penetration and Vulnerability (Pen. & Vul.) Testing Reports and follow up on any issues raised. | Conduct reviews of approved and broadcasted advertisement or marketing. o Conduct and report on ICT / Systems Audits for manufacturers, testing laboratories, and operators. o Conduct and report on regular review of live online betting channels, modes, or platforms. o Conduct and report on research on new industry trends, products, and data privacy and cyber / information security threats. o Conduct and report on reviews of advertisement or marketing approval requests. o Maintain records of all advertisement or marketing including from receipt, approved, rejected, and pending. o Maintain records of C-LoC from NRCS for follow up on required action. o Maintain records of Pen. & Vul. Testing Reports. o Conduct and maintain monthly industry financial and gambling and betting inventory statistical data analysis. o Maintain records of new, decommissioned, non-compliant, and declined devices. o Keep up to date and maintain knowledge of applicable legislative changes and developments in the industry.
