GAMING AUDITOR
The minimum requirements are
Grade 12 with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in financial, regulatory, or internal auditing; or
A relevant three-year post-grade 12 qualification in fields such as Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Forensic Accounting, Risk Management, or Commerce, with a minimum of three (3) years' financial or regulatory auditing experience in either an internal or external auditing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience in preparing clear and comprehensive reports.
A valid Code B driver's licence
In addition, the role requires a hardworking, independent individual with strong drive and initiative who demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and the ability to engage effectively with people at all levels within the organisation. The successful candidate must display excellent interpersonal skills, strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, be fluent in English, and be computer literate. As the role involves handling confidential information, the successful candidate must possess high integrity and be willing to undergo periodic external probity investigations. Additionally, the successful candidate must be prepared to travel as needed and have their own reliable transport. Knowledge and experience of database integrity checks will be an added advantage.
The key performance areas of this position will include, inter alia
:
Conducting risk-based tax and compliance audits at the premises of the various license holders, including casinos, limited gambling machine operators, bookmakers, bingo operators and other licensed establishments throughout the Western Cape, which the Board may approve from time to time.
Develop and maintain risk matrix, information flow charts, audit programmes and procedures.
Ensure appropriateness of all applicable gambling and betting legislation and operators' internal control standards.
Keeping abreast with new auditing techniques and developments within the gambling and betting industry.
Make recommendations for the improvement and development of licensed operators' operational and financial procedures.
Schedule review of licence holders' tax returns and financial reports, and compile relevant schedules.
Prepare internal and external reports relating to the financial aspect of the licence holder, including the security.
Review and investigate complaints or disputes related to this area of responsibility.
Create mutual co-operation and a supportive environment through open communication, including structured audit engagement and exit meetings and ensure that license holders have a clear understanding of regulatory expectations.
Remuneration
: The Board offers a total cost to company of

per annum (
