Successful candidate will be responsible to manage funds to ensure that all fund-related transactions that occur between the operations system reconcile to the financial system. Ensure that terminations occur according to termination rules. Ensure that revenue and profits relating to funds are accurately accounted for and fund provision are evaluated and accounted for based on business requirements and accounting standards. Perform fund analysis of trends and report findings to management.
SPECIIC ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, align and implement a departmental strategy and associated policies and guidelines
Measure the delivery of operational plans, realign and improve where required
Implement corporate governance and compliance policies to identify and manage risk exposure liability
Ensure that the funds department reconciles fund transactions between the operational and accounting systems
Ensure that reconciling items are resolved and cleared on an ongoing basis as they are identified
Ensure product splits are loaded and authorised according to company policy
Review and sign off the pre-terminations run to ensure that terminations occur correctly
Work with actuarial team to ensure that actuarial reports agree to financial reports
Ensure that revenue and profits on funds are accounted for correctly and in line with accounting standards
Ensure that fund provisions are evaluated on a monthly basis in accordance with business requirements and accounting standards
Assist the financial managers with the required disclosure and ageing of funds on a bi-annual basis
Review of JV calculations and management accounts and ensuring pay-outs are made as per agreement
Preparing and presenting monthly reporting to management and other stakeholder and ensuring that data presented is accurate and complete and received according to finance deadlines
Preparation of budget and forecast information and analysis thereof
Ability to interpret and explain trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies
Analysis of funds for trends, anomalies, etc.
Manage financial activities in line with approved policies, processes and procedures.
Implement and manage end-to-end processes.
Resolve problems with the necessary discretion and guidelines.
Plan, manage and monitor processes to ensure customer service excellence.
Deliver services that creates a culture, which aims to exceed customers' expectations in all aspects of the business.
Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment.
Monitor and positively influence and manage change, and offer operational support where required.
Explore new methods and best practices of work within the parameters defined in the current business practices.
Improvement and automation of current processes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
B.Com Degree or CIMA qualification
Experience working with big data
5+ working experience within the same or similar role
