The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure income from a variety of sources, ensuring The Impact Facility (TIF) has the resources to deliver on its mission: enabling artisanal and small-scale miners (ASM) and their communities to access finance, markets, and technical support, while fostering responsible sourcing and positive environmental and social outcomes. This includes individual giving, corporate partnerships, institutional grants, trusts, foundations, events, and community-led fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
Develop and deliver a fundraising strategy aligned with TIF's objectives, financial targets, and impact ambitions.
Identify new funding opportunities, particularly within the spheres of impact investment, ESG-focused corporates, sustainability-focused donors, and development finance institutions.
Create innovative campaigns to diversify income streams, with an emphasis on blended finance models and cross-sector partnerships.
Monitor fundraising performance, prepare impact-linked reports, and present updates to senior management, trustees, and partners.
Income Generation
Lead on applications to trusts, foundations, bilateral and multilateral funders, and sustainability-focused programmes.
Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners (particularly those in mining, jewellery, and battery supply chains), and aligned community supporters.
Develop regular giving programmes, donor journeys, and stewardship initiatives that connect supporters to tangible impact in ASM communities.
Manage fundraising events (physical and virtual), ensuring strong participation and measurable financial and reputational returns.
Relationship Management
Act as a key ambassador for The Impact Facility, representing it with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Cultivate and sustain excellent relationships with stakeholders, including funders, corporate partners, development agencies, and grassroots organisations.
Work collaboratively across teams to integrate fundraising with program delivery, communications, and impact reporting.
Management & Compliance
Line-manage fundraising staff and/or volunteers, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance support.
Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, GDPR/POPIA, and ethical standards, in line with TIF's commitment to integrity and responsible practice.
Manage fundraising budgets, forecasts, and reporting processes effectively.

Requirements
Essential
Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets across multiple income streams, particularly from institutional donors and corporate partnerships.
Strong written skills, with experience preparing successful funding bids, proposals, and impact-focused reports.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to build lasting relationships with donors and stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to develop creative campaigns and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong financial awareness, including budget management and an understanding of impact-linked financing mechanisms.
Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practice.
Desirable
Experience within the international development, sustainability, or responsible sourcing sectors.
Familiarity with donor management systems/CRM databases.
Experience in digital fundraising and leveraging social media for impact storytelling.
