Function and Beverage Manager Duties &Responsibilities SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE
To promote Isango Gate as a premium location for events (functions, workshops, weddings etc) providing 5 star service and experience at every phase of the event. Being the face of Isango from initial enquiry managing the relationship and event from the start to end. Including in this is the day-to-day operations of the beverage department and related staff to ensure the premium experience.

Smooth planning and running of all functions/events
Day to Day running of the Beverage Department
MAIN DUTIES:Promoting Isango as a Premium Function Destination
Represent Isango, xe2x80x9cbe the face of Isango,xe2x80x9d at marketing events or corporate customers to promote functions
Advertise and market Isango as a premium function destination
Arrange events that will assist in Isango to be become better known as an event venue with targeted costumers
Attend suitable local fairs and events to market Isango
Liaise with reservations regarding upcoming bookings
Managing all Function for a 5-star customer experience
Planning these from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
Coming up with suggestions to enhance the events success
Respond to all function/conference/event enquiries

Prepare quotations and do follow ups
Approve all aspects before the day of the event
Prepare budgets and ensure adherence
Liaise and meet with the group agent/ guest/ co-Ordinator
Source, Liaise and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure group specs are met
Coordinate all operations for events and planning
Supervise all staff (Event co-ordinators, caterers, suppliers, staff allocated to event)
Ensure program are distributed to staff and followed to ensure the clients stratification
Ensure these events is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur
Analyse the eventxe2x80x99s success and prepare reports
Trains, supervises and works with event/beverage staff
Beverage Planning and Control
Agree Beverage Menuxe2x80x99s & wine lists, both content and pricing with the Operations Manager
Ensures that selling prices are updated on regular intervals
Monitors bar results
Ensures that promotions are held in the hotel regularly to generate business
Maintain strict security standards to avoid damage or theft
Manage Liquor cost in all areas
Ensures perfect appearance and hygiene of all service staff
Control of Function and Beverage areas:
Regularly checks all areas for maintenance requirements and follow up
Keeps a close eye on Marketing / freebies
Ensures tightest control over Beverage security
Liaison with Operations Manager
General
Ensures that all subordinates in his allocated areas have a job description and that they receive the necessary training for job competence
Monitors all guest complaints with Management
Maintain and improve 5-star standards across the hotel
Be integral part of management team to bring internal harmony and positive interactions with all guests
